How Does Jawline Filler Work?

Jawline filler is one of NoMi Beach Health’s most sought-after procedures, providing a non-surgical solution for achieving a defined, chiseled jawline. This popular treatment utilizes Juvederm® Volux® or Radiesse®. While Juvederm Volux offers excellent structure and volume for jawline contouring, Radiesse provides an additional advantage with its bio-stimulator effects, promoting the production of collagen and elastin for long-lasting results. With either option, results can last up to three years, making these fillers ideal for jawline enhancement.

What to Expect

  • For Men: Typically, 5-7 syringes are needed to achieve a well-defined, structured jawline.
  • For Women: Generally, 3-4 syringes are sufficient for a balanced and contoured look.

It’s important to understand that the jawline is a large area, and achieving a truly chiseled result requires a substantial amount of filler. While smaller amounts can be used, they may yield only subtle improvements in jawline structure.

To ensure facial harmony, our jawline filler procedure often includes treatment of the chin, creating a cohesive and naturally enhanced appearance.

Pre-Care

To minimize bruising during your cheek filler procedure, please follow these guidelines:

  • Avoid consuming alcohol for at least 3 days prior to your appointment.
  • Consult with your healthcare provider about temporarily discontinuing blood-thinning medications or supplements, such as Ibuprofen, Excedrin, Aspirin, Aleve, or Fish Oil.
  • Arrive at your appointment without makeup for a clean and safe treatment experience.

Post-Care

After your filler treatment, please adhere to the following post-care instructions for optimal results:

  • Refrain from working out for at least 24 hours.
  • Avoid wearing makeup for 24 hours.
  • Do not rub or massage the treated areas for 4 hours.
  • Swelling is normal and expected. It typically subsides within 2 weeks, though minor residual swelling may persist for up to 4 weeks. Please plan your appointments accordingly if you have any major events coming up.

Frequently Asked Questions

Radiesse® provides results that last up to three years and stimulates collagen growth, which can extend benefits for about five years.
Radiesse can be partially dissolved. Any remaining filler will naturally break down over three years.
Jawline fillers typically take about two weeks to settle. However, residual swelling may persist, so it’s best to allow up to four weeks to see the final results.

Jawline filler is not ideal for patients with prominent jowls or significant loose skin along the jawline and neck. While Radiesse can enhance jawline definition, it cannot address severely loose skin. Similarly, patients with substantial submental fullness (double chin or excess neck fat) may not fully benefit from jaw fillers and may require alternative treatments.
Men typically desire a sharper, more chiseled jawline with an angle closer to 90 degrees. In contrast, women’s jawlines are often less angular and more tapered, creating a softer, feminine contour. Because men generally require more definition and tend to have larger facial structures, they may need more filler to achieve optimal results.
